Police officials in Thane have filed a case against five men for allegedly drugging and raping a 21-year-old woman. The incident, which has stunned the local community, took place on March 25 in Kalyan, Maharashtra, with developments reported earlier today.
The young woman, residing in Titwala with her grandmother, had an altercation that led her to stay with a female friend. According to the victim's statement, she was offered a ride by a man acquainted with her friend, unknowingly leading to a perilous situation involving four other male occupants and her two female friends.
The victim reported being drugged and later waking up under distressing circumstances, with threats made by the accused. Despite the trauma, she bravely shared her ordeal with family, resulting in charges under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Law enforcement is actively pursuing the perpetrators as the investigation unfolds.
