In a significant discovery, eight factory-made pistols were seized from the Tripura Sundari Express by Railway Protection Force personnel at Agartala railway station. The discovery was made during a routine check on Thursday morning.

The arms, found in two unclaimed bags, included eight pistols and 16 empty magazines. Despite the serious nature of the find, no arrests have been made yet.

The Director General of Intelligence has visited the site and a case has been registered against unknown individuals. The Government Railway Police are intensively investigating to identify those responsible for the smuggling operation, seeking assistance from other security entities.
