Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has taken decisive action in response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. On Thursday, he canceled all leaves for government employees and sanctioned Rs 5 crore in funding for each of the border districts, including Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sriganganagar.
These measures come after Indian forces targeted terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan, leading to heightened security concerns. The sound of explosions shook Jaisalmer on Thursday evening, prompting a blackout across western Rajasthan's border regions.
In a high-level meeting, Sharma emphasized the importance of prioritizing national security, directing officials to ensure adequate resources and personnel are available in border areas to maintain public services during emergencies. Additional financial aid was provided to enhance infrastructure and services in affected regions.
