Israel launched a series of airstrikes targeting elements of Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs overnight, according to an Israeli military source who requested anonymity. The strikes have allegedly put Iran's military leadership 'on the run,' marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.
The Israeli airforce specifically avoided striking Iran's underground Fordow nuclear facility to prevent the risk of a nuclear disaster. However, military sources indicated that future strikes against this location have not been ruled out.
Despite the precautions, Iran has retaliated with approximately 400 ballistic missiles and various drones, aiming them at both civilian and military sites within Israel. The Israeli official noted a decrease in missile activity overnight, attributing it to the success of their attacks in diminishing Iran's missile launch capacity.
