In Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district, a foundation stone laying ceremony took a dramatic turn when a civic leader's anger led to the destruction of a plaque. Ramakant Bilgaiya, the vice chairman of the Bina civic body, was reportedly incensed upon discovering his name absent from the commemorative plaque.
The event, meant to mark the construction of a new road, turned chaotic as Bilgaiya picked up a pickaxe and shattered the plaque, leaving attendees shocked. A video capturing the incident has since gained significant traction on social media platforms, highlighting the extent of the official's frustration.
Bilgaiya accused Chief Municipal Officer Ramprakash Jagneria of intentionally excluding his name, calling it an affront to his position and dignity. Authorities have since promised Bilgaiya that his concerns will be addressed to prevent future oversights. The ceremony later continued without further incident.
