NCSC Demands Report on Alleged Insult to Ambedkar by Lalu Prasad Yadav

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has formally requested a comprehensive report from the Bihar government concerning accusations against former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. The allegations involve disrespect towards a portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during Yadav's recent birthday celebrations.
According to a circulating video, Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, is purportedly seen with his feet positioned near Ambedkar's portrait. The NCSC has demanded details including the incident's date, nature of the alleged insult, and any steps taken, such as filed FIRs or arrests.
The NCSC has emphasized that if the Bihar government fails to submit the report within 15 days, it may exercise its constitutional authority under Article 338 to summon officials or individuals to present the necessary documentation.
