Strengthening Ties: India-Nepal Security Discussions in Pune

India and Nepal held significant talks in Pune focusing on strengthening security and defence cooperation. The meeting was part of the ongoing India-Nepal Bilateral Consultative Group on Security Issues, emphasizing collaboration.

India and Nepal embarked on a new chapter in their bilateral relationship by hosting the 16th meeting of the India-Nepal Bilateral Consultative Group on Security Issues (INBCGSI) in Pune. Significant dialogues led by top officials from both countries focused on enhancing security and defence cooperation.

The discussions in Pune covered a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from joint military exercises and disaster relief operations to military exchanges. Representatives from India and Nepal's foreign and defence ministries, alongside army directorates, actively participated in these talks aimed at strengthening ties.

Further, delegations explored potential collaborations by visiting public and private defence manufacturing facilities. The INBCGSI, an institutional mechanism established in 2003, continues to play a pivotal role in coordinating bilateral defence and security efforts between the two nations.
