Reservation activist Manoj Jarange has issued a clarion call to the Maratha community, urging them to unite for a monumental statewide march. Scheduled to commence from Antarwali Sarathi village in Jalna district on August 27, the march is described as the 'final fight' in their struggle to secure the quota under the OBC category.
The march will culminate in a significant gathering in Mumbai on August 29, as Jarange vows not to retreat until the reservation is granted. Addressing an enthusiastic crowd in Antarwali Sarthi village, he condemned politicians for exploiting the Maratha community for electoral gains, emphasizing that this protest is crucial for obtaining full reservation benefits.
Jarange highlighted past hunger strikes and the need to recognize all Marathas as Kunbis, an agrarian caste listed under the Other Backward Classes. He strongly advocates for using historical documents like the Bombay, Satara, and Hyderabad gazettes that classify Marathas as Kunbis, underscoring the ongoing fight for justice and recognition.
