Major Heroin Bust: Rs 6 Crore Seized in Assam

In a major crackdown on illegal drug activities, Assam police have seized suspected heroin worth a staggering Rs 6 crore. The operation, which resulted in the arrest of three alleged drug peddlers, took place in the Lalpool area of Nilambazar, Sribhumi district.
The operation was carried out based on what Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described as 'credible intel'. In his announcement on social media, Sarma commended the Sribhumi police for their swift action during the anti-narcotics operation.
Approximately 870 grams of the suspected illicit drug were recovered, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region. Authorities continue to investigate the source and distribution network connected to this seizure.
