A deadly ambush unfolded in Manipur's Churachandpur district, leading to the deaths of four individuals, among them a 72-year-old woman. The United Kuki National Army (UKNA), a banned militant group, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The victims included three members of an armed Kuki organization that had previously engaged in a peace agreement with the government. The incident occurred near Mongjang village when they were traveling in a car, as confirmed by local police sources.
Soon after the attack, UKNA justified their actions with a statement, alleging past grievances with the deceased. Additional security forces have now been deployed to the area to restore peace and order.
