In a shocking incident in Latur district, Maharashtra, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly set on fire by her husband for questioning his outing with a female friend, local police reported on Monday.
The victim, identified as Fatima Qureshi, has suffered 70 per cent burn injuries and remains in critical condition. The altercation occurred on July 24 when the couple argued over the husband's outing, leading to the horrific act.
The police have registered a case against the husband, his female friend, and also against the mother-in-law and brother-in-law, whom Qureshi accused of complicity. No arrests have been made as investigations continue.
