YMA Urges Mizoram to Act Amid Assam Eviction Concerns

CYMA, the largest civil society group in Mizoram with over four lakh members, emphasized the need for careful regulation of the Inner Line Permit, which controls entry to protected areas like Mizoram. The group's general secretary, Malsawmliana, stressed the importance of precautionary measures to curb illegal entries.

CYMA instructed its sub-headquarters and branches in border districts to be vigilant. Mizoram shares a 164-kilometer boundary with Assam, heightening the risk of unauthorized crossings. The Association called for effective government action to manage this sensitive border issue.
