Governmental Reforms Pave Way for Inclusive Civil Services Examination

The government is continuously reforming the civil services examination to better address governance needs and social inclusivity. The government is consistently implementing reforms in the civil services examination to align it with evolving governance requirements and social inclusivity, stated Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday.

Annually conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the exam rules are defined by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), considering suggestions from stakeholders like UPSC and other governmental bodies, Singh noted in the Rajya Sabha.

In recent discussions, the government addressed issues such as excessive coaching dependence and evaluation transparency in the civil services examination, indicating a commitment to ongoing improvements in the system, Singh added.
