In a significant operation, the Thane police's Anti Narcotics Cell apprehended an alleged interstate drug trafficker, recovering charas valued at Rs 3.39 crore near Uthalsar Naka.
Mohammad Maqsood Mohammad Ahmad, 42, hailing from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, was nabbed late on July 31 during a special anti-drug campaign initiated by the commissioner of police.
The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and urged the public to report any narcotics-related activities, assuring confidentiality for informants.
