The incident unfolded after the officers had escorted Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to Chandigarh and returned to Himachal. During their journey back, the policemen made a pit stop at a liquor shop in Chandigarh, where they were caught on camera buying alcohol in full uniform.
The two-minute video, showing a shop worker assisting them by placing liquor crates into the police vehicle, quickly went viral, prompting senior police officials to order a departmental enquiry, which verified the video's authenticity and led to immediate suspensions.
