The Delhi Police arrested two individuals involved in the illegal trade of banned Chinese manjha and seized 660 rolls of the material, according to an official statement released on Monday.

Identified as Manish, 23, and Saleem Pathan, both from Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, the suspects were nabbed following a tip-off and sustained police surveillance. The operation commenced with a raid near Milan Garden in Mandoli on August 1, leading to the apprehension of Manish with 540 rolls found in his vehicle, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Aditya Gautam.

Manish's interrogation led to a breakthrough; he admitted to sourcing the Chinese manjha from a local kite shop in Muradnagar for resale in Delhi at a higher profit. This disclosure directed police to Saleem Pathan in Main Bazar, Muradnagar, where 120 more rolls were recovered from his shop. According to police, Saleem had been covertly selling the banned material for over two years, obtaining supplies from a vendor in Karnal, Haryana. The investigation is still ongoing.
