Justice Sought: Arrest in Disturbing Jajpur Case

In a harrowing incident, police in Jajpur district arrested a 26-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl. The arrest was made following a complaint by the victim's father, which brought the case to light, revealing a grim series of events.

According to the complaint, the accused, visiting a relative in the girl's village, allegedly took her to a market under the guise of buying chocolates. It was there that the assault allegedly occurred. The young girl later experienced pain, prompting her family to intervene.

Local police, upon receiving the complaint, immediately registered a case under the POCSO Act and conducted medical examinations of both the victim and the accused. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days pending further investigation.
