In a strong message to drug mafias, Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha declared a zero-tolerance policy against the drug trade. Speaking at a blood donation camp, Saha expressed deep concern over the rise in drug addiction among youths, emphasizing strict action for those involved in such illegal activities.
Highlighting the state's commitment, Saha reported a 104 percent increase in drug seizures and a 132 percent rise in drug destruction in 2024 compared to the previous year. He reiterated that law enforcement agencies are relentlessly pursuing drug operations, ensuring that offenders face severe consequences.
Under the aegis of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, Saha seeks to transform Tripura into a prosperous state despite challenges from legacy governance. He noted that Tripura ranks second in GSDP and per capita income among Northeastern states, signaling an era of economic advancement.
