A tragic incident unfolded near R K Mission School in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district when a labourer was reported missing after attempting to cross a river.

Identified as Bappon Mahato from Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, he was accompanied by five others who managed to escape the river's fierce currents. Sadly, Mahato was overpowered and swept away.

The State Disaster Response Force has been tirelessly searching the area, hoping to find Mahato after he was last seen on Saturday.
