Amid widespread public outrage, the Haryana government has decided to transfer the investigation into the death of 19-year-old teacher Manisha to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This decision follows demands from her village for impartiality in investigating the controversial case.
Manisha's body was discovered in a field in Bhiwani on August 13, two days after she went missing. Initial police investigations suggested suicide by ingesting poison; however, her family has vehemently denied this version and demanded full justice, sparking continuous protests in her village.
Political leaders, including opposition party members, criticized the state government's handling of the case. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini asserted the transfer to CBI for transparency, amid growing suspicion over the authenticity of a suicide note purportedly found alongside Manisha's belongings.
