The drone incident caused significant damage, scorching a cornfield, shattering windows in surrounding homes, and adding to the regional strain. Lublin regional prosecutor Grzegorz Trusiewicz suggested a high probability that the drone came from Belarus, although the specific model remains unconfirmed.

Initial investigation findings indicate a possible involvement of a Russian version of the Iranian-developed Shahed drone. The Belarusian and Russian embassies in Warsaw have not commented. Following Russian strikes on western Ukraine, Polish jets were deployed on Thursday, though no airspace violations were detected.
