Life Sentence for Husband in Shocking Infertility Murder Case

A local court has handed down a life sentence to a man named Waseem for the murder of his wife, driven by her inability to conceive. The ruling was confirmed on Wednesday by a government counsel.

On Tuesday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravikant found Waseem guilty under section 302 of India's erstwhile Indian Penal Code (IPC) and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000. However, three co-accused individuals, Shamim, Tasawer, and Suman, were acquitted due to insufficient evidence, according to government counsel Ashish Tyagi.

Khushnuma, married to Waseem since 2013, was allegedly beaten to death by him on September 5, 2021, in Budhana town. The victim's father accused Waseem's family of pressuring her for not bearing a child and intending for Waseem to remarry, culminating in her demise as confirmed by police investigations.
