Odisha Police Fast-Tracks 'Red Flag' Murder Case of Woman Traffic Constable

The Odisha Police has classified the murder of woman traffic constable Subhamitra Sahoo as a 'Red Flag' case for accelerated investigation. The victim went missing in early September and was later found dead. Three individuals, including her husband, have been arrested in connection with the case.

The Odisha Police have escalated the murder investigation of Subhamitra Sahoo, a woman traffic constable, designating it a 'Red Flag' case for rapid action and close oversight, officials announced on Friday.

Sahoo, originally from Paradip, vanished on September 6, only for her decomposed body to be discovered in a jungle in Keonjhar district on September 17. The site is approximately 170 kilometers from her duty post in Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena emphasized the case's urgency due to its classification under the 'Red Flag' category, applied to severe crimes against women. Police have detained Sahoo's husband and two others for their suspected roles in the crime.
