A tragic incident rocked Sikkim's Pakyong district when a 52-year-old man allegedly killed his son, police reported on Friday.

The altercation occurred in Rongli-Changeylakha during the early hours, leading to the fatal attack. An argument between Mani Bagdas and his 25-year-old son Prasant turned violent around 1.30 am.

During the scuffle, Mani reportedly struck Prasant with an iron rod, resulting in his immediate death. The police have arrested the father and seized the weapon, while the son's body has been sent to STNM Hospital in Gangtok for a post-mortem.
