A tragic incident unfolded in the Singtam area of Gangtok district when a man lost his life following a violent altercation at a local market. The confrontation took place between 35-year-old Dinesh Pradhan and the owner of a meat shop, Mohammad Islam, alongside his son, Jalal Sheikh.
The altercation erupted on Thursday evening at Lal Bazar, leaving Pradhan with severe injuries on his hand. Despite being rushed to Singtam hospital and later to Gangtok for treatment, Pradhan succumbed to his injuries due to excessive blood loss.
Police responded swiftly, apprehending the shop owner and his son for questioning to unravel the details behind the conflict. An investigation is actively underway, aiming to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragic demise of Pradhan.
