Call for Caution: Police Urge Cancellation of Pro-Palestinian Protest Amidst Tensions

The Metropolitan Police issued a plea on Friday for organizers of a planned pro-Palestinian protest in London to cancel or delay the event. This comes in the wake of a deadly attack on a Manchester synagogue, which has heightened fears and concerns across the UK, including in London.
Police stress the urgency of deploying officers to protect communities afflicted by the attack, instead of preparing for a protest expected to draw over 1,000 participants at Trafalgar Square on Saturday. The protest advocates for Palestine Action, an organization outlawed under anti-terrorism laws in July.
The police criticize Defend Our Juries, the protest's organizers, for diverting vital resources away from London communities during this crucial time. By promoting mass law-breaking, they argue, the protesters are exacerbating the strain on law enforcement resources.
