Heroin Bust in Mizoram: Trio Arrested with Contraband

In a significant anti-drug operation, three individuals have been apprehended in Mizoram's Lunglei district after law enforcement authorities seized heroin worth Rs 46.92 lakh from their possession, according to a statement by Assam Rifles released on Friday.
The operation, conducted on Thursday, was a collaborative effort between Assam Rifles and the Mizoram Police, initiated by a crucial tip-off. The joint team executed the raid in the Bazaar Veng area of Lunglei town, successfully capturing three suspects, including a woman, and confiscating 62.56 gm of heroin.
The arrested individuals, identified as B Daniel (29), Ujhol Chakma (35), and Kajala Devi Chakma (26), are believed to be from the same locality. The confiscated narcotics, along with the suspects, have been handed over to the Mizoram Police to proceed with legal action.
