The newly launched Jaguar patrolling team of the Delhi Police successfully thwarted two narcotic operations in central Delhi this Monday, recalling the arrest of a drug peddler and two minors. The team seized 3.718 kg of opium and 1.650 kg of cannabis in separate operations conducted in the Karol Bagh area.

Initiated on September 16 from the Red Fort, this patrolling initiative aims to bolster street policing through the deployment of rapid response motorcycle teams across central and north Delhi. "During the first operation on October 5, around 8 am, the Jaguar team noticed a man acting suspiciously near Bikaner Chowk, Karol Bagh, and upon investigation, discovered 3.718 kg of opium in his possession," stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Nidhin Valsan.

The suspect, Aditya Luhar, a 24-year-old tea stall owner from Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, was detained and charged under the NDPS Act. In another operation on October 4, the team intercepted two juveniles on a scooter on Pusa Road, recovering 1.650 kg of cannabis, with both minors transferred to the local police, leading to a case under the NDPS Act at the Karol Bagh Police Station.
