Amidst Bihar's forthcoming assembly elections, Jharkhand has mobilized 43 checkpoints across 10 districts sharing borders with Bihar to thwart illegal activities. Nine new checkpoints complement existing ones, making this a robust security measure.
The initiative, requested by Bihar, aims to combat the unlawful movement of cash, liquor, and other contraband items. Security is jointly monitored by law enforcement, magistrates, and videography teams to ensure transparency and order during Bihar's election phases between November 6 and 11.
Authorities have already intercepted illegal activities, including significant cash and liquor consignments. This bi-state cooperation aims to uphold the model code of conduct, safeguarding the integrity of the impending elections across the region's shared borders.
