Police in West Bengal have made two more arrests in the alleged gang rape of a medical student, escalating the number of accused in custody to five.
According to Deputy Commissioner Abhisekh Gupta of the Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate, these arrests were made based on the victim's complaint.
The 23-year-old victim from Odisha's Balasore district was attacked on Friday night while dining with a friend near her medical college. Police had previously arrested three individuals related to the incident.
