A shocking incident of assault and robbery occurred on a passenger train in Andhra Pradesh, as reported by railway police. A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped at knife point and robbed on October 13 while traveling in a ladies coach between Guntur and Peddakurapadu stations.
The woman, from Rajamahendravaram, boarded the Santragachi Special Express and was initially alone in the coach. At Guntur Railway Station, a man approached, forced his way in, and attacked her as the train moved to its next stop. He robbed her of Rs 5,600 and a mobile phone before escaping.
After reaching Charlapally, the woman reported the incident to Secunderabad Government Railway Police, who registered a 'Zero FIR' to ensure investigation regardless of the crime's location. The investigation into this deplorable act is being transferred to Nadikudi Police Station.
