In a heart-wrenching incident in Sultanpur district, a 70-year-old man, identified as Umashankar Dubey, was allegedly beaten to death on Tuesday. The tragedy unfolded in Khanpur Pilai village while Dubey was grazing his cattle.
According to Circle Officer Vinay Gautam, Dubey engaged in an argument with two young men from the locality, which quickly escalated. The men reportedly seized a stick from Dubey and attacked him, causing severe injuries. Despite efforts to save him, Dubey was declared dead at the Akhandnagar community health centre.
Grieving family members placed Dubey's body on the road, loudly demanding justice and swift action. The police have calmed the protesting relatives and have sent the body for post-mortem examination. The case has been marked by accusations against both named and unnamed villagers, emphasizing the community's calls for accountability.
