Teen Kidnapping and Assault Case Brings Communities into Tension

A case has been registered against a 16-year-old male juvenile for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 17-year-old girl from a different community, as revealed by police on Wednesday. The minor was sent to a juvenile home after the events unfolded.

The girl was reportedly abducted on October 11 while en route to her coaching class. Mohammad Fahim Qureshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Bairia, confirmed that the boy was formally charged on Sunday following a complaint from the girl's grandmother.

The complaint further alleged a possible attempt by the accused to convert the victim's religion. Police intervened and successfully rescued the girl on Tuesday at Deoraj Brahm Morh, leading to the boy's detention. It was noted that both teenagers were students at the same coaching institute.
