BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh has urged the implementation of an 'area-wise demographic policy' (ADP) for Uttar Pradesh, citing statistical imbalances in Hindu and Muslim populations. Singh, representing the Sarojini Nagar assembly seat, addressed a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recommending this policy.
The proposal focuses on achieving balanced population growth, women's empowerment, and social harmony through strategic interventions in education, health, family planning, and migration management. Singh highlighted census data showing a shift in population percentages over the last six decades, sparking concern over social harmony and development.
He suggests categorizing districts into zones based on fertility rate, child marriage prevalence, and education levels, offering financial incentives for achieving targets. Singh believes these measures will lead to improved health, education, and social cohesion across Uttar Pradesh.
