A tragic incident unfolded during a freshers' party at a private college in Latur district, Maharashtra, resulting in the death of a student named Suraj Shinde. Authorities have arrested six students in connection with the fatal assault, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The dispute began on October 8 during the party in the college's MIDC area, erupting into violence as an argument between Shinde and fellow students intensified. The group allegedly beat Shinde with sticks and fists, causing severe injuries, according to police reports.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Shinde succumbed to his injuries. Police have registered a murder case and arrested four students initially, with two more apprehended after further investigation, bringing the total to six. All are charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, officials stated.
