British authorities detained three men on Thursday on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service, reportedly linked to Russia. The individuals, aged 48, 45, and 44, were apprehended at separate locations in west and central London. Concurrent searches are being carried out by police at these residences.

The investigation, spearheaded by counter-terrorism forces, has intensified as officials work to disrupt what they describe as a growing trend of 'proxies' being recruited by foreign agencies.

Dominic Murphy, who leads the Counter-Terrorism Policing London, emphasized that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat such clandestine activities within the UK.
