Life Imprisonment for Anantnag Father in Shocking POCSO Case

A court in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the rape of his minor daughter, officials disclosed on Friday.

Presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge, Tahir Khurshid Raina, the court pronounced the life sentence after considering arguments on the punishment's severity.

The convict, found guilty on October 15, has been ordered to remain incarcerated for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, the Anantnag District Legal Services Authority will facilitate a compensation process for the survivor, ensuring a minimum payment of Rs 10 lakh.
