In a significant breakthrough, two suspected ISIS operatives have been apprehended by the authorities from Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, following a meticulous police operation. The suspects, identified as Mohammad Adnan Khan and Adnan Khan, were allegedly preparing to execute terror strikes in Delhi's densely populated areas during the festive season.
The cache of explosive-making materials, including plastic bombs, Molotov cocktails, and timer devices, was seized from a Delhi residence, pointing to the advanced preparation of the accused. The arrest also disrupted their efforts to disseminate ISIS propaganda and engage young recruits via social media platforms, officials disclosed on Friday.
The duo was reportedly acting under the guidance of a Syria-based ISIS handler, revealed through a detailed investigation by the Special Cell and anti-terror squads. The coordinated operations and intelligence gathering were pivotal in averting a major security threat, ensuring public safety during the ongoing festivities.
