A man impersonating a senior police officer was arrested in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, this Friday. The individual, identified as Umer Mochi from Zalangam, was intercepted at a checkpoint in the Kokernag area during routine police checks.
The police discovered a uniform with the rank of a senior superintendent in his bag. Upon seeing the checkpoint, Mochi attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by alert police personnel.
Preliminary investigations suggest he was using the uniform to deceive the public, impersonating a high-ranking officer. A case has been registered, and further inquiries are being conducted, according to a police spokesperson.
