Guwahati Police apprehended three individuals involved in an inter-state job racket falsely posing as a skill development agency on Monday. The arrests followed a strategic raid on a residence in Bhetapara by the East Guwahati Police District team from Basistha police station, spurred by a tip-off.
Authorities revealed that the operation uncovered a trove of fraudulent materials, including computers, suspected fake marksheets, debit and credit cards, biometric scanners, blank cheques, mobile phones, and a substantial cash sum of Rs 2,05,100. These items were instrumental in perpetrating the scam.
The accused confessed to forging student documents to illegitimately enroll them in the PM Vikas (Minority Project) Skill Development Scheme for personal financial benefit. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the trio, who hail from Rajasthan and Haryana.
