Hope for Tiprasa: Debbarma Eyes Amit Shah's Intervention

Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, leader of Tipra Motha Party, expressed optimism that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would resolve the longstanding Tiprasa issue. Despite a recent agreement for community development, Debbarma criticized exaggerated claims of voter shifts and delays in democratic processes within tribal regions.

Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the leader of the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), has voiced his hopes that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will play a pivotal role in resolving the enduring issues faced by the Tiprasa community. Speaking at a party gathering in Rabindra Bhavan, Debbarma emphasized his respect for Shah, expressing confidence that the concerns of the indigenous people will be addressed soon.

Earlier this year, the TMP inked an agreement with the central government and the state of Tripura aimed at fostering development for the Tiprasa community. The deal was finalized in March in New Delhi, with Shah's presence underscoring its significance. Debbarma also dismissed rumors about the alliance being negotiated at a local level instead of the capital.

While rejecting claims by the BJP regarding the influx of indigenous voters into their fold, Debbarma criticized the delay in holding elections for the village committees of the Tripura Areas Autonomous District Council. He also expressed displeasure over the exclusion of Rajmata Bhibu Kumari Devi during a recent temple inauguration by the Prime Minister.
