Dramatic Police Encounter Unfolds on Meerut-Hapur Road

A wanted criminal, Asif, was injured in a police encounter in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, during a crackdown on criminal activities. Police recovered an illegal firearm and ammunition from him. Asif, implicated in over 15 cases including illegal slaughter, was shot in the leg and apprehended.

A high-stakes police operation unfolded on the Meerut-Hapur road, Uttar Pradesh, when a notorious history-sheeter was injured in a gunfight with law enforcement late Tuesday night.

The accused, known as Asif, opened fire at officers during a routine checking drive ordered by the Senior Superintendent of Police. The police retaliated, hitting Asif in the leg before apprehending him.

Officers recovered an illegal firearm along with live and spent cartridges. Asif, facing over 15 criminal cases, including illegal slaughter, was taken to a health center for treatment and will appear in court post-recovery.
