In a dramatic turn of events in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, an altercation over vehicle overtaking involving a state minister's escort has resulted in one arrest, with two others currently evading capture, according to officials on Friday.
The Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Verma, stated that the confrontation emerged as Minister Sanjeev Kumar Gond and district panchayat representative Sanjeev Kumar Tripathi were en route from Robertsganj to Dala. The encounter near Chopan escalated when the minister's security entourage clashed with another vehicle's occupants, disputing overtaking rights.
Following the incident, police apprehended Ankit Mishra of Dudhi, who was allegedly behind the wheel. Meanwhile, two co-passengers, Shubham Soni and Pankaj Agrahari, escaped and remain at large, heightening efforts by authorities to locate them. A case has been registered, and the vehicle involved has been confiscated.
