A Delhi court on Tuesday placed Jasir Bilal under NIA custody for 10 days, citing his role as an 'active co-conspirator' in the Red Fort car blast that claimed 15 lives. This significant move follows concerns over Bilal's alleged technical support to suicide bomber Umar un Nabi.
The court, presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna, agreed to the NIA's request for custodial interrogation. Media access was restricted, effectively rendering the legal process as conducted 'in camera'. A robust police presence, alongside the Rapid Action Force, underscored the gravity of the case.
Bilal, a Qazigund native, was apprehended in Srinagar on grounds of modifying drones and attempted rocket development for terrorist activities. Meanwhile, Amir Rashid Ali, another key figure, was similarly remanded in NIA custody for 10 days for logistical support to Umar un Nabi. This development marks a strategic step in unraveling the terror plot surrounding the Red Fort tragedy.
