Over the weekend, a segment of a rail line crucial for transporting aid to Ukraine was blown up in what Polish officials suspect is an act of sabotage instigated by Russian secret services, a government spokesperson revealed on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk condemned the act as 'unprecedented,' highlighting the deliberate targeting of critical infrastructure. Polish security personnel, including military commanders and intelligence officers, have been mobilized to assess the safety of the country's railways and other pivotal infrastructure.
Prosecutors have launched an investigation into these acts, believed to be of a terrorist nature for foreign intelligence's benefit, posing a severe threat to public safety and property. Defence Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz mentioned ongoing investigations concerning materials found at the incident sites.
