Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised concerns over the ongoing revision of electoral rolls during a meeting with key AICC office-bearers. He emphasized that the party must address this issue on a political, organizational, and legal front.
Gandhi criticized the Election Commission for shifting responsibility to political parties and alleged the process aims to disenfranchise genuine voters. Alongside Mallikarjun Kharge and K C Venugopal, Gandhi called for the protection of electoral roll integrity.
In light of Bihar's election results, the Congress questioned the Election Commission's fairness and accused the BJP of orchestrating 'vote chori.' The party urged the poll body to prove its impartiality as the SIR exercise continues across multiple states.
