- Talent nurturing through specialized training programs
- Research excellence via collaborations with academia and industry
By uniting these elements, AQV aims to position India as a global leader in quantum communication, security, and computing.
C-DOT’s Role in AQV
Through this partnership, C-DOT will establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Quantum Communication & Security Solutions at AQV. The CoE will also explore allied areas such as Privacy Enhancement Technologies (PETs), ensuring alignment with India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM) and compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework of MeitY.
Key focus areas include:
- Development of quantum communication solutions for secure networks
- Research and testing in quantum security systems
- Creation of cost-effective sub-components for quantum communication systems
- Establishment of an integrated quantum security testbed
- Skill development programs to nurture India’s next generation of quantum professionals
Quantum Security Leadership
C-DOT has already pioneered Quantum Security solutions, with installations across premier academic institutions, government R&D labs, and live traffic networks. Its expertise will provide AQV with the technical backbone to foster a quantum-safe ecosystem, ensuring enhanced digital privacy and data protection nationwide.
Leaders at the MoU Exchange
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of:
- Shri Nara Lokesh, Minister of ITE&C and HRD, Government of Andhra Pradesh
- Dr. Pankaj Kumar Dalela, Executive Vice President, C-DOT (signatory on behalf of C-DOT)
- Shri Bhaskar Katamneni, Secretary, Information Technology & Communications (ITE&C), Andhra Pradesh
Their participation underscored the importance of collaboration between central R&D institutions and state governments in advancing India’s quantum mission.
National and Global Impact
The partnership strengthens India’s position in the global quantum race. With countries worldwide investing heavily in quantum technologies, AQV provides India with a strategic advantage by:
- Building indigenous capabilities in quantum communication
- Reducing reliance on foreign technologies
- Creating opportunities for startups, MSMEs, and academic institutions
- Supporting India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM) objectives
The collaboration between C-DOT and the Andhra Pradesh Government through Amaravati Quantum Valley is a landmark step in shaping India’s quantum future.
