In a significant breakthrough, police in southwest Delhi have apprehended 42 suspects linked to cybercrime scams accruing over Rs 254 crore. The arrests were made as part of Operation CyHawk, targeting inter-state fraud rings exploiting numerous victims.
The crackdown resulted in the registration of 23 FIRs and the discovery of ties to 377 NCRP complaints. The investigation, aided by advanced technical analysis, led to the recovery of digital devices, cash, and bank documents.
Key arrests included those of alleged mastermind Ravi Kumar Singh, who managed fraudulent call centres, and individuals involved in tax fraud, job scams, and ATM fraud. The operation covered multiple states, highlighting the extensive reach of these cybercriminal networks.
