Political Clash Over Shree Jagannath Temple's Ratna Bhandar Inventory

The ruling BJP and opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha are embroiled in a heated controversy over the inventory of jewellery and valuables at the Shree Jagannath Temple's Ratna Bhandar. The BJD has accused the BJP government of intentionally delaying the process.

While BJD claims that the BJP is politicizing temple matters, the BJP asserts its achievements, saying it opened and repaired the Ratna Bhandar quicker than the previous government. The BJD, however, criticizes the BJP's management of temple functions as chaotic.

The Ratna Bhandar was opened after 46 years in July 2024, and renovations followed. Tensions continue as accusations from both parties paint a picture of political maneuvering rather than a sincere effort towards temple administration.
