In a landmark verdict, a fast track court has sentenced three men to life imprisonment, concluding a high-profile case of kidnapping and murder that dates back nearly 20 years. The men, identified as Ravi Mishra, Aakrosh Gupta, and Yogendra Kashyap, were found guilty of abducting and killing a Class 10 student, Sunil Tomar, in a chilling crime that had shaken the community.
Presiding Judge Kuldeep Singh, on Friday, delivered the sentence along with a fine of Rs 55,000 for each convict, as confirmed by District Government Counsel (DGC) Pushpendra Singh Chauhan. The court's decision caps a long-fought legal battle to deliver justice to the victim's family.
Sunil Tomar, a resident of Power House Road, went missing on December 31, 2005, and his body was tragically discovered a day later near Jalalpur village. Though two of the accused, Shailendra Yadav and Shailendra Kashyap, remain at large, officials continue their search to bring them to justice.
